What you get

What an interior job includes

Most of an interior repaint is preparation. This is what is covered before a finish coat ever goes on.

Get this priced for your place
  • Furniture moved to the center of the room and covered; floors protected wall to wall
  • Nail holes, dings and hairline cracks filled, then sanded flush
  • Loose or flaking areas scraped back and spot-primed
  • Caulking refreshed where trim meets wall so lines stay sharp
  • Walls, ceilings, trim, doors and closets cut in by hand
  • Two finish coats where the color change or the surface calls for it
  • Hardware and switch plates removed rather than painted around
  • Room put back together and cleaned up at the end of every day
The process

How the work runs

  1. 01

    Walkthrough and estimate

We look at the actual rooms, talk through sheen and color, and leave you with a written price. It is free, and there is no pressure to book.

  2. 02

    Protect and prep

Everything that is not getting painted gets covered. Then the slow part: filling, sanding, caulking and priming, which is what decides how the finish looks.

  3. 03

    Cut in and coat

Edges and trim are cut in by hand rather than taped and hoped for. Coats go on in the order that keeps ceilings, walls and woodwork clean against each other.

  4. 04

    Walk it with you

We go room by room together before the drop cloths come up, so anything you want touched up gets touched up while we are still there.

Interior painting questions

Most single rooms take one to two days including prep and a second coat. A whole interior usually runs about a week, depending on square footage and how much trim and repair work is involved. Your written estimate confirms the schedule.
