Exterior Painting · NH Seacoast

Exterior painting for Seacoast homes that take real weather

Salt air, freeze and thaw, and a lot of sun on the south side. Exterior work here lives or dies on preparation, so that is where most of the time goes.

What you get

What an exterior job includes

A coating is only as good as what is under it. This is the work that happens before the first finish coat.

Get this priced for your place
  • Surfaces washed down so the coating bonds to siding rather than to dirt
  • Loose and failing paint scraped back, then feather-sanded so edges do not telegraph
  • Bare wood spot-primed; full prime where the surface needs it
  • Gaps and joints caulked to keep water out of the substrate
  • Rotted or failing trim flagged before it gets painted over
  • Windows, roofing, walkways and planting covered and protected
  • Siding, trim, soffits, fascia, doors and porches coated as specified
  • Site cleaned down daily, with nothing left in the yard overnight
The process

How the work runs

  1. 01

    Walk the house

We go around the whole building and look at the condition of each elevation. South and west faces almost always need more work than the rest, and the estimate reflects that.

  2. 02

    Wash and scrape

The house gets washed down, then anything loose comes off. This is the slowest stage and the one that decides how long the finish lasts.

  3. 03

    Prime and caulk

Bare wood gets primed, joints get caulked, and problem areas get sealed before any color goes on.

  4. 04

    Coat and inspect

Coats go on in workable sections and in the right weather window. We walk the finished elevations with you before the ladders come down.

Questions

Exterior painting questions

The Seacoast exterior season generally runs from late spring through autumn, because coatings need suitable temperature and dry surfaces to cure properly. We book ahead and schedule around the weather rather than pushing a coat on in the wrong conditions.
